Nintendo Roms And Emulators? What Was The Name Of This Snes Game?
Dec 09

Im getting a new laptop/netbook and I want to know which I should get. Basically I need it for work now so I can do stuff on the train prior to work and at home while I am staying at a friends. The main things I need are like word processing basic internet and IM. But I would also like to play some really low spec games, such as Warcraft 3 FT (online rts) + (s)nes emulators + a few stock control programms such as mfgpro, what I am asking is will a notebook manage to run these progs?

I would view a netbook as a tool for “on the go” computing. It will work fine for IM / Internet / Word processing as you describe, but I think you will be disappointed with the lack of ability to run games. Even for things like web browsing and word processing, you may be disappointed with the screen size. If you don’t really have to have the very small size (which I wouldn’t think you would at home or while with friends), get a laptop.
You can get a low end laptop for $3-400 (and maybe getting cheaper as Christmas approaches!). Netbooks really aren’t much (or any) cheaper unless you get a deal from a wireless company that locks you into a monthly wireless charge.
I have a hard time believing anyone will be talking about Netbooks 3 years from now… I really believe that given the cost relative to laptops and their limitation, there are very few people for which they are the right choice.

Are you looking to have an elite World of Warcraft account? Now you can be level 80 in 7 days and generate as much gold as you want.
